Kamerameha — real name Sophiane Afroun — is a French director whose work moves between cinema, music and contemporary culture.
He developed an instinctive relationship with the image very young, and built, piece by piece, a recognisable cinematic world in which the aesthetic is always in service of emotion and story. That approach has led him to work with major artists in France and internationally — among them PNL, Alicia Keys and Gims — and with brands such as ASICS.
Beyond music video and commercial work, Kamerameha also develops his work through fiction. His short film No Mercy travelled widely, with more than 70 festival selections around the world, some twenty of them awards, alongside screenings in several countries.
Through his films he explores human emotion, individual trajectories and social realities, with a deeply visual direction, often touched by melancholy and poetry.
Between films, music videos and commercial projects, Kamerameha continues to build a personal visual language — with the intention of making images that do not only ask to be seen, but to be felt.
